As the only multi-disciplinary Transgender Health Program in the Mountain West, we are committed to providing education and resources to providers looking for more information. Your practice can take advantage of our transgender health best practice trainings or participate in annual clinical CME (continuing medical education) opportunities on this topic.

For information on fellowship and medical student learning opportunities as well as a list of academic publications please visit our School of Medicine page.

Letters of Support

Referring providers and patients should be aware that the U of U Health follows the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) Standards of Care, which requires letters of support to be provided for most surgical services. These letters should be written by a mental health professional.

A patient’s insurance plan may require additional letters or requirements. Patients should contact their insurance directly.

Please send these letters to our team via email to transgenderhealth@hsc.utah.edu or fax them to 801-581-2296 with Attn: Transgender Health Program.
