Office Of Network Development & Telehealth

Sharing Resources Across The Mountain West

University of Utah Health has a long history of sharing knowledge and expertise across the Mountain West; as the regions only academic medical center there is a great responsibility to provide support to communities with less access to specialty healthcare than the Wasatch Front. With the onset of Covid-19,  the support of U of U Health physicians and leaders has never been more critical to hospitals, clinics, and providers operating in rural areas.  Outreach to these areas is organized through the Office of Network Development and Telehealth.

MISSION

Help patients receive excellent health care how, when, and where they need it. The fulfillment of this mission requires us to have durable and sustainable programs that strengthen our hospital and provider partnerships throughout the region.

We strive to assist all communities, particularly rural and underserved areas, through the Affiliate Network, the Regional Network, continuing provider education, and telemedicine partnerships. The Office of Network Developement and Telehealth serves to provide network partners access to the clinical expertise, research, and resources from our top ranked academic medical center — in order to then serve patients within their own communities.

Our motto is Better Together. And we prove it each day.

U of U Health clinical educators use video conferencing platforms and tools like Project ECHO to maximize the efficiency of learning. The ONDT education teams develop critical content, clinical discussions, and didactic sessions to connect providers from all over the region to specialists at U of U Health using online platforms.
