    Join us in Farmington, Utah for exclusive courses and networking with neonatal and OB providers from across the region!

    University of Utah Health AirMed’s Neonatal and high-risk OB team will facilitate a two-day, in-person OB Education Weekend on March 21 - 22, 2025. The weekend will include OB and Newborn certification courses (offered a la carte), simulation, as well as a tour of one of AirMed’s helicopters for any healthcare provider in the region with an active healthcare license. 

    AirMed, University of Utah Health’s patient transportation service, covers one of the largest geographical areas of any flight program in the nation. Through serving this expansive area, AirMed has formed relationships with staff, EMS, and medical institutions throughout the Mountain West. AirMed’s mission includes a commitment to educating healthcare professionals and ensuring patients receive exceptional pre-hospital and transport-level care, regardless of location.

    AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring - COURSE FULL

    Cost: $115 + separate book purchase of $135 (students cannot share books as each person needs a unique testing code) 

    Audience: Registered Nurses and Providers who have completed the basic foundations FHM course and who use FHM technology in the intrapartum perinatal setting. This is not an introductory-level FHM course. 

    Contact Hours: 11.25, (Continuing education credit is awarded by AWHONN, ANCC, and ACCME) 

    Certification: Yes, recommended to recertify every few years 

    Course Description: Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course is conducted by RNC-OB and RNC-EFM certified nurses. This Intermediate Fetal Health Monitoring Course, designed by AWHONN, addresses principles of fetal heart monitoring (FHM). This course includes the following hands-on skills:  

    • Leopold maneuvers
    • Placement of an intrauterine pressure catheter and fetal spiral electrode
    • Interpretation of fetal monitoring tracings using a case-based approach
    • Identification of physiologically based clinical interventions
    • Communication and risk management principles 

    ∗ Part 1 (pre-course work): Participants must complete about 3 hours of online course work at least 24 hours before the in-person class date and purchase a separate book for $135. Pre-course work instructions and course materials will be sent once a participant registers for the course. 

    ∗ Part 2: Instructor-led, in-person course 

    ∗ Part 3 (post-course work): Participants must complete a post test and evaluation after the in-person course. Participants must score 80% on the online post-test to earn contact hours and certification.

    NRP ADVANCED (8th Edition) - COURSE FULL

    Cost: $100 + separate certification fee of $55  

    Audience: NRP advanced is appropriate for those who attend births and are responsible for anticipated resuscitation of a newborn with known risk factors, and for those who participate in neonatal resuscitation beyond positive-pressure ventilation, including physicians, nurses, advanced practice nurses, nurse midwives, licensed midwives, respiratory care practitioners, and other health care professionals who provide direct care during neonatal resuscitation. 

    Contact Hours: 11.9 CNE or CME 

    Certification: Yes, certification expires every two years 

    Course Description: The NRP Provider Course introduces the concepts and basic skills of neonatal resuscitation. NRP Advanced covers lessons 1 through 11 of the textbook and uses simulation and debriefing to practice hands-on resuscitation skills with instructor assistance.  

    ∗ Part 1 (pre-course work):  Participants must complete about 4 hours of online course work at least 24 hours before the in-person class date and purchase a separate certification fee of $55. Pre-course work instructions and course materials will be sent once a participant registers for the course. 

    ∗ Part 2: Instructor-led, in-person course 

    ∗ Part 3 (post-course work): None, certificate is generated at the end of the instructor-led event.

    S.T.A.B.L.E (7th Edition) - COURSE FULL

    Cost: $100 + separate book purchase $65 (students can share books) + $54 online pre coursework 

    Audience: STABLE is designed for physicians, physician assistants, registered nurses, respiratory therapists, nurse practitioners, and any other healthcare providers that use these skills within their scope of practice. 

    Contact Hours: 2.25 for S.T.A.B.L.E. Foundations + 6 hours for the in-person course 

    Certification: Yes, certification expires every two years 

    Course Description: STABLE is a neonatal education program that focuses on the post-resuscitation/pre-transport stabilization and care of sick infants. STABLE stands for the 6 assessment and care modules in the program:  

    1. Sugar and Safe Care
    2. Temperature
    3. Airway
    4. Blood Pressure
    5. Lab Work
    6. Emotional Support

    ∗ Part 1 (pre-course work): Participants must complete 2-3 hours of online course work at least 24 hours before the in-person class date (S.T.A.B.L.E. Foundations), which costs $54, and purchase the $65 book (students can share books). Pre-course work instructions and course materials will be sent once a participant registers for the course. 

    ∗ Part 2: Instructor-led, in-person course 

    ∗ Part 3 (post-course work): None, certificate is generated at the end of the instructor-led event.

    The two-day OB Education Weekend will take place at the Farmington Health Center on 165 N University Ave, Farmington, UT 84025. 

    Please park on the south or southwest side of the building. Enter in the front entrance and you will be directed to the event!
