NURSING BADGES

As part of a HRSA grant, several faculty members at the University of Utah College of Nursing have developed four Digital Badges available to the nursing workforce.

  • Digital badges can improve patient care and are often used to highlight a nurse's training on their resume.
  • The four free modules explore challenges in the acute care setting experienced by patients and their families who are from various backgrounds and socioeconomic statuses.
  • Embedded in the modules are unfolding case studies using professional actors that feature two contrasting scenarios: one that violates principles of equitable care while the other scenario adheres to them.
  • Within these modules, nurses are provided the background and clinical tools to address the course concepts of SDOH, health equity, cultural sensitivity, and personal/collegial resiliency.

Although the courses are tailored to nurses, non-nurses may enroll.

If you have questions about the course or troubleshooting the course, please contact the Program Manager, Ana Hernandez-Liquin.
