Assisting Providers Through Telemedicine
Through videoconferencing technology, our burn experts can see patients remotely, allowing them to assess and make recommendations and care for wounds.
TeleBurn currently performs more than 400 video consultations each year, reaching more than 80 sites in the Mountain West. TeleBurn has telemedicine partnerships with sites located in:
- Colorado,
- Idaho,
- Montana,
- Oregon, and
- Wyoming.
The University of Utah Health's Burn Center also brings education and resources to affiliate partners and community providers addressing burn and soft tissue injuries and Crisis Standards of Care (CSC).
Community providers can get educational resources from an interdisciplinary team of burn and soft tissue injury professionals from the ABA verified University of Utah Health Burn Center.

Burn MedPic App
The Burn MedPic App from U of U Health is the newest way for physicians to access consults from qualified burn and wound care providers at the Burn Center. The App gives users a direct line to share and collaborate on burn and wound care from anywhere, anytime.
The U of U Health Burn MedPic app is HIPAA compliant and does not store patient images on any device. As the only academic specialty burn center in the Mountain West, we’re expanding our reach to anywhere emergency burn care is needed.
With the Burn MedPic App physicians can:
- Share HIPAA compliant photos of patient burns and wounds.
- Receive assistance with patient care from any location or setting.
- Consult with a burn expert from an ABA verified Burn Center.
